The first song from the forthcoming second SlawDog album. 'Highways & Hedges' features lead vocalists Duane Williams and Mike Lamneck trading off lines as they sing about the urgency of the times. SlawDog's Mike Lamneck says, "The lyrics are really a call to do something right now with the gifts you've been given. As Christians we are supposed to be about God's business here on earth." SlawDog is made up of Mike Lamneck (vocals, guitar, harmonica, keys), Duane Williams (vocals, lead guitar), Dan Bell (bass), and Daniel "Boonie" Wykle (drums).
"Everybody gather 'round, don't be caught just layin' down. Night is near no time to lose, every man, woman, child you've got to choose. Don't store your treasures up where moth and rust destroy.
All eyes on me, say can you see, not where the focus ought to be.
Get out of yourself and lend a hand, people of God now make a stand.
Everyone's gonna give an account on how they spent their days.
Everybody gather 'round, lift up His name, feel the sound.
It's with the unseen that we fight, move out of the dark and into the light.
All our days are numbered, just a vapor in the wind."
